I honestly feel very bad for the Oilers. This is even worse than that almost-record-breaking losing streak we had after losing Ryan Smyth in the 2006-2007 season. However, the result of that losing skid was Sam Gagner. So I do believe that even though we're just a little half over the season, and we're this bad, the result might be someone better than Sam Gagner. However, it is tough to admit that I am an Oilers fan now that our team has become the laughing stock.
Anyways, what happened to the first few weeks of January? It seems that time is going by way too fast; not that it ever goes by too slowly, but that's besides the point. I've noticed a few things over the last while when I've been at work. The first one is that the moment I start to do some clockwatching, it's like time decides realizes I'm looking at it and slows down so I could catch up to it; however it is completely on the contrary that I want it to go faster. Yeah, I know that's usually the way it goes, but hey, whatever passes the time. Another one, and this happened a while back, is that it's funny the extent to which someone will go to in order to get the attention of someone else. Let me put it in a short, short story.
Just as he is finishing up his shift, she has completed about half of hers. She decides to walk over to him and ask, "is this all you do? isn't it boring?" he responds by giving a bit of a shrug that says "it's all good". Then she'll see that it's safe to proceed to talk about herself and what she had to do for the rest of her shift. So it seems that the conversation is now dead, but when he starts walking to the staff room, they cross paths again. Although not literally because the paths are wide enough for two people to walk side by side, she decided to nudge him with her shoulder to plant a bomb. She smirks as she keeps walking farther away from him knowing that she's done her job. About a few minutes later pass, then about half an hour pass, he suddenly realizes to himself, "what the heck was that for?!"
She got his attention. What up?
