You ever suddenly come across an old toy that you used to love so much and play with everyday? The instant you look at it, floods of memory come back into your mind and the movie of good times starts playing. Well, I looked at my blog, and this sort of an image popped into my head. Sure, I posted not overly long ago, but it seems I haven't spent as much time with my blog as I used to. ;)
Well, anyway, since the new year started, it's been a bit tough. I'm quite physically exhausted from listening to the demands of work. Don't get me wrong, I'm incredibly thankful that I have a job; it's just very taxing on a body of my build. However, work is always fun and at the end of the day I'm very grateful that I got to experience life with others and earn some money - which I am quickly spending away - for my future schooling.
I must take an opportunity to mention the Oilers. I absolutely - and I very rarely use this word - hate that people keep saying that the Oilers should tank this year and draft Taylor Hall. Sure, it'll be nice if we have him on the team; but what does that say about Oilers' fans? Last week, I heard someone say to another someone that he could probably put a team together that will work harder than the Oilers. Let's see that. Let's see you put a team together that, not only, will be more skilled, but harder working and more intense than the Oilers. Yeah, I didn't think so. It's extremely frustrating to see the Oilers go through such an awful slump, and the players are the first ones to admit that they're horrible. It's no different than having a retailing company go through a span of five years without making any money or having any sort of success. One other thing that bugs me is how someone will go on to say, "this player sucks. that player sucks. they can't do anything." One example off the top of my head is Visnovsky. The point was that Lubo can't play defense. My response to that is, have you watched him at all? Lubo is not only our best offensive defenseman, he's also our best defensive defenseman that's not named Smid. It's the little things that Lubo does that makes him so effective. So next time, go watch a player play for an extended period of time before you make such a comment.
/endrant.
The Oilers will be good, sooner rather than later; bank on it. The likes of Souray, Visnovsky, Smid, Penner, Brule, Gagner and Cogliano need to stay; whatever the heck else Tambellini decides to do with the team, I don't really care.
Anyways, there's not too much in the long run that I'm really looking forward to, or worth mentioning in a blog post. As stated before, I'm going to be grinding some hours out to try to earn as much money as I can.
The weekend is where it's at.
