Life Is Wonderful

Life, I must say, is pretty awesome. Outside of the stupid research paper, concert review, and exams I have to do, I really cannot complain about anything in my life. I also like how things happen in my life where they start out completely unrelated, and then end up coming together and making me think, "oh! that's cool".

So, anyways, I had been sort of sick over the last week and it really makes me appreciate the good health I have. It seems a lot of people take good health for granted because we live in a clean city liked Edmonton. I was talking to a friend and then out of nowhere she mentions that she wants to get sick but can never do so. Hmm. That really allowed me to see that many of us really do take our health for granted, and that it almost seems "cool" to be sick.

This lead me to thinking one thing: it usually takes one to know the other. For example, it takes being sick to know what good health really is; it takes failures to know what success is; it takes up to know what's down; do you see what I'm getting at? There's no end to what I'm saying. Jason Mraz's "Life Is Wonderful" really put it all into perspective for me, and I encourage anyone to listen to this song because, not only is it great, it helps you understand what life is all about. This is exactly the way God likes to work, and I give full props to Him for inventing this. It takes us falling, usually many times, before we can truly understand what God can do. If we were always happy, got what we wanted, and lived a good life, then we would never have the need for God, and that's just not cool. This is why I live life the way I do: happy and free of worry - almost. Whenever we're down, people get so caught up within themselves by crying, acting depressed, talking about yourself, blogging about it, etc., that we make it seem like the world is coming to an end; I don't see it like that anymore. It is all about where you choose to put your attention when things like these happen; instead of pissing people off by bringing the world down with you, you turn to what you learn out of it and how it can be taken positively. That's why, when you see the gas prices go up, that's when you think to yourself, "well, I guess I get to ride my bike!" - if you fancy bike riding, that is.

I guess you can take this for what it is to you, I'm not trying to indoctrinate everyone into the mentality of "don't worry, be happy" because that's almost impossible to do when life happens. Worrying can be a good thing, if you choose the good worry over the bad worry, then that is where you see how wonderful life is.
