A few days back, I had something on my mind that I wanted to write about that might have been worth writing about, but today, I decided to change my mind and write about some random stuff that really is not worth your time reading.
I personally think that global warming will GG us all within 25 years. The weather is so disgusting with all the extreme temperature changes and random dumps the sky likes to take. No one can escape from the way the weather patterns change; a change of almost fourty degrees in less than 24 hours is not healthy in any way. The rapid changes in weather is gonna breed all this new crap of bacteria and we're all gonna be sick. Then, eventually, an insane epidemic is gonna arise because of all this change in weather in a short time, then it's GG. All hell will break loose and we'll be panicing as a human race, and then blah blah blah...
Welp, speaking on the topic of rapid weather changes and how it'll make everyone sick, I have been sick-ish for about a week. It is a legit cold that never really got to me because I did my best to limit the symptoms to just a bad cough. What I really don't like is how when you are legitly ill, you ask for permission to hand in homework a class late, just to have the professor tell you, "sure, if you have a doctors note, i'll take it." What the heck is this bullcrap? It is a freakin' common cold, and there is no need to see a doctor for this! We all know that a cold limits your activity severely but nothing can speed up the recovery other than fluids, sleep, and rest. There is no need to see a doctor and waste time just to get a freakin excuse letter. So, I stayed home for a couple of days and I guess I will be getting a 0% on one of my music assignments because I did not make a trip out to the doctors just to tell him to write me a note saying that I had a cold so I am excused to not handing in my homework. In all honesty, there is no need for seeing a doctor unless your illnesses get serious, because what's the doctor gonna do? Give you some cough or runny nose medicine and tell you to rest more; I could tell you to do that and I don't get paid anything.
One last thing, there is no way possible for me to describe my disappointment in the Oilers as of recently as well as most of this season. So, for the first time in my life, I am no longer supporting the Oilers to make a big push into the playoffs. The only thing that will allow me to change my mind is when Craig MacTavish gets fired or releaved of his coaching duties. It is so brutal to watch a coach fail so miserably to fully utilize a strong team in front of him. And normally, the Calgary Flames are the third last team I would EVER cheer for, but I am cheering for them to go deep into the playoffs just to express my frustration.

Serious
You might be thinking to yourself, "hey Nathan, why so serious?" I say, because this is some serious business that we're talking about.
Well, actually, first thing I figured today is that I am in need of an acoustic guitar. I have my electric, which I don't think I will ever get rid of, but I realized that I will need one an acoustic before I go out to pursue my life. Not only will it probably be needed for bible college, but for more of a leading purpose as well. I am not someone that is skillful enough to be able to sing and play lead guitar at the same time; it just doesn't work like that. This is just a case of my wishful thinking, but I am going after a Taylor, haha.
Okay, it's business time. I do not understand how some people, some church regulars, people that have made declarations of their faith to Christ, believe that school is important enough that it is worth skipping church for. I just don't understand the logic behind it. School is so important that you would rather do that instead of worshipping your creator, your saviour. Church only lasts a few hours each week, and school or work usually takes up the rest of it. Out of however many hours there are in a week, all that is being asked is a few of them to go to church instead of doing your school work. I just do not believe it; I can't understand why you would even consider skipping church to do homework or study and it drives me mad. I may be overreacting, or I may not be, but it really offends me to find out that someone is skipping church to stay home to "study". Where in the world did it cross your mind that school should be placed before God?
If you're at home but still take the time to do some reflection or devotion or something of that sort, then it's still fine, but I highly, highly doubt that most people who don't go to church do that. I understand that procrastination is a dick and we usually find ourselves guilty of not doing the work required to be able to go to church on sunday and be able to go home afterwards and have enough time to do the rest, but that is our own fault and we should pay the price for it. I never have all my work done by Sunday morning, but I know my own faults and I suck it up and still go to church and deal with the lack of time later.
It makes me really angry, and I cannot seem to translate it all into words, but I am not pointing at anyone specific, it is just something that I've seen multiple times and it drives me crazy each time to see someone skip church so they can finish their homework or studying. I am sorry if I have offended anyone, but I am just speaking my mind, and I need to get some anger out before another boring week starts =D

Contestant
Today was a pretty eventful day, and since I have nothing better to do right now, I will recap on my day. I think that although today is just another day, my life is boring enough that even the smallest things that happen can be deemed worthy of writing about.
Who cares about school, skip right to home. I could hardly hold my excitement in, in regards to watching O'Sullivan and Kotalik play, but before we get there, there is other stuff. So I had my interview with AIA about the summer coaching job I applied for. This is my second phone interview and it was a pretty good one. In my life, I have done two job interviews over the phone, and not a single face to face interview, yet. I must say though, that the answers I was giving wasn't the greatest I answers I could've come up with. And to all honesty, I don't think I will be getting this job as it is a competitive position this year from what I hear. But, I will be open to anything and just wait and see whether of not I will be coaching this year.
Then I taught guitar, and I must say again that I am no guitar teacher. If you do come across this, please do not ever again refer people to me to teach someone guitar. I simply cannot teach. You are better off spending five extra bucks at a place that has actual guitar teachers. However, I must keep to my commitment and teach till the middle of May. I honestly hope that I have not ruined anyone's guitar career by having to learn from me, because I simply can't teach. I don't have the ability. But, I love working with kids and I guess that is the only reason why I am still doing it.
Afterwards, I was utterly disappointed by the Oilers, once again. It was nice to see Kotalik click with Hemmer and O'Sullivan being aggressive on the forecheck, etc., but I am still frustrated by our inconsistency. Good on Gagner for getting two goals. I cannot wait for the day that Mactavish loses his coaching job.
Thank goodness it's friday tomorrow.. HELLO WEEKEND.. almost.

D-Day
.. For the NHL, that is.
Today was the much anticipated NHL trade deadline day, and sucked in by the hype, I was very excited to see which players were going to be dealt and where. At the end of the day, it is rather bittersweet of a feeling to be sitting here with the current Oilers' roster. I am very, very sad to see Erik Cole go back to Carolina. Cole has what our team needs, but I guess it just didn't work out in the end.
I woke up this morning and I was all ready to be watching the first half of the deadline coverage only to see that there was barely any movement other than the Leclaire for Vermette trade. I am pretty disappointed by now, but just as I leave the house to go to school, the trades start popping in. However, even through all the excitement, I am left empty with the Oilers not seeming to do anything. After my final class, an hour after the deadline, I get an alert that tells me the Oilers have acquired Patrick O'Sullivan in a three team trade involving the 'canes and the Kings. Right then and there, I knew Cole was gone. I must say that I am a huge fan of Cole and it is because of the person he is. This guy deserves the best success in the world because he is too good of a guy to be treated as anything less than first class. So seeing that it seemed we only got O'Sullivan from the trade, I wasn't all that happy about it.
It is later on that when I am on the bus on my way home that I see we had also picked up Kotalik. Seeing this made everything better. Can you believe that I actually almost fell out of my seat because I saw this?
Now that all the hype and buzz has come to an end, I am extremely excited to see O'Sullivan and Kotalik wear that Oilers' jersey and go out there and kick some butt. I have a sense that Gagner or Hemsky could click VERY well with Kotalik. I also see O'Sullivan being that solid all-around top 6 player that we need to help Horcoff out a bit.
Other than the failed-to-live-up-to-expectations trade deadline, I don't have much else to say since I am back to my regular boring loser of a life over the last couple weeks. I am kind of sad that Fields Day got cancelled this year because we are the only church that signed up for it (LAWL), but I think some of the kids are more sad than I am because I get to sleep in and the kids can just get up for the saturday morning cartoons like usual.
